Aberfeldie Primary School

Aberfeldie Primary School is committed to providing a high quality education that will enable all students to achieve to the maximum of their potential and prepare them for positive futures. The school has an enrolment of 352 children with a staff of 24; which represents a large increase in numbers from last year. The school provides opportunities that ensure all students have access to a teaching and learning program that is relevant, rigorous and challenging. Our aim is to develop students who are confident and self-motivated and who demonstrate high standards of literacy and numeracy. Classroom programs are enhanced through the provision of support and extension programs for students in Literacy and Numeracy.

This year (2016) will see continued expansion of our ICT resources to support individualised learning.. Expert staff are given opportunities work with their colleagues to ensure that best practice in the use of ICT is shared throughout the school. The school offers an extensive range of specialist programs including Visual Arts, Instrumental Music, Physical Education and Japanese. Our expansive grounds provide the capacity for students to participate in a broad range of recreational activities. This year will see us add opportunities for children to participate in Adventure Learning, Coding and Choir programs.

At Aberfeldie Primary School we actively encourage parent participation; and this participation takes many forms. Parents are welcome to participate in classroom programs, attend school events, join School Council or a School Council sub –committee or make an appointment with a Principal Class Officer to discuss any aspect of the school.
